Teknotherm becomes Official U.S. Distributor of Frascold refrigeration products

Teknotherm is pleased to announce that we are now the official and sole distributor of Frascold compressors and condensing units for the US market.

Frascold is the second largest compressor manufacturer in Europe and produces over 60,000 compressors and condensing units every year.  Semi hermetic reciprocating and screw compressors are available with and without built in inverter technology.

Also available are compact semi hermetic screw compressors with oil separator built in and air cooled as well as water cooled condensing units.

Introducing Teknologic SCA

Teknotherm is pleased to introduce the Teknologic SCA from our Automation and Controls department. The Teknologic SCA is a PLC based Screw Compressor Automation panel which features a color touch screen and ethernet capability. Smaller than a Mycom CP IV panel and more advanced than just about any compressor control package available, the Teknologic SCA will improve your control and trouble-shooting abilities related to your screw compressor package.

Teknologic SCA can be installed on any screw compressor - Mycom, Grasso, Howden, Kobelco, Bitzer, Carrier etc.

Teknotherm Delivers More Plate Freezers and More RSW Systems

Teknotherm has delivered another 9 horizontal DSI plate freezers as well as 2 more Mycom screw compressor packages. The customer is Coastal Villages Regions Fund which recently acquired the factory trawler Northern Hawk. The vessel originally had 8 Jackstone plate freezers but in order to increase capacity, the company decided to increase that number to 9. In addition, Teknotherm will be installing a new Mycom 200 VLD screw compressors package in order to bring the existing capacity up significantly. A Mycom 125 LUD screw compressor package will be installed next year.

Teknotherm has also delivered several RSW chillers and condensers to a customer in South Africa. The flooded RSW chillers each have a capacity of approximately 175 tons and the condensers are over 250 tons each. Teknotherm has delivered multipled RSW chillers, condensers and pre-chillers to this particular customer.

Finally, Teknotherm recently received an order for a brand new RSW system to be installed before January 15th, 2011. The system is based on ammonia as refrigerant and will feature a dual Bitzer screw compressor package, PLC based controls with color touch screen and ethernet capability.

M/V Excellence Freezing Upgrade

M/V Excellence

Teknotherm just completed installation and commissioning of a 24 plate freezer freezing system to the M/V Excellence. The 24 double contact DSI plate freezers will currently allow for roughly 170 tons of frozen surimi production per 24 hours with the possibility of increasing production to 220-240 tons of product per 24 hours with increased compressor capacity and other system modifications.

Additionally, Teknotherm designed and delivered the entire PLC-based automation package for this system. There are 24 individual plate freezer panels and 4 touch-screen, fully animated, PLC panels in addition to the SLC and HMI panels. The automation controls everything from freezing cycles to hydraulic pressure.

Last year, Teknotherm installed 2 new compressors on board the M/V Excellence in order to allow for this increase in capacity and the ship will be able to increase production even more once other updates are completed.

Teknotherm Delivers 120 Ton RSW Skid to Cape May, NJ

Teknotherm delivered a 120 ton RSW system to Cape May, NJ in May. The system, which is completely skid mounted, features dual Bitzer screw compressors run by 100 HP electric motors each and a state-of-the art PLC control package which will allow for remote monitoring and troubleshooting of the system via the internet.

This is the first of two RSW systems that Teknotherm will deliver to Lund's Fisheries in Cape May, NJ this year.

New Ammonia Systems

Teknotherm recently exhibited a brand new product line at the Pacific Marine Expo 2009 in November of last year. These new RSW systems are completely "green" as they use ammonia as refrigerant, utilize 4-pass condensers and VFD-driven compressors to decrease energy consumption.
