M/V ExcellenceTeknotherm just completed installation and commissioning of a 24 plate freezer freezing system to the M/V Excellence. The 24 double contact DSI plate freezers will currently allow for roughly 170 tons of frozen surimi production per 24 hours with the possibility of increasing production to 220-240 tons of product per 24 hours with increased compressor capacity and other system modifications.
Additionally, Teknotherm designed and delivered the entire PLC-based automation package for this system. There are 24 individual plate freezer panels and 4 touch-screen, fully animated, PLC panels in addition to the SLC and HMI panels. The automation controls everything from freezing cycles to hydraulic pressure.
Last year, Teknotherm installed 2 new compressors on board the M/V Excellence in order to allow for this increase in capacity and the ship will be able to increase production even more once other updates are completed.
